This consultation document sets out a new policy to inform the consideration of planning applications relating to the Conversion
and Re-use of Rural Buildings as Dwellings. It also features proposed amendments to the LDF Proposals Map. The policy sets out which types of building (and where in the District) the Council considers conversion to permanent residential
use may be acceptable. It is hoped that the sympathetic re-use of suitable buildings will contribute to the achievement of
sustainability objectives, by reducing the need for new building in the countryside and by supporting rural economies and
communities.
We are now seeking your views on the proposed Policy before submitting it to Government for independent examination.
